Grade 4 Overview

Aberdeen Hall’s enriched Grade 4 programme provides students with a nurturing yet challenging environment, designed to solidify literacy and numeracy skills – with specialist instruction in French, Drama, Music and P.E.


Grade 4 Highlights

Key Skills:

Note taking, paragraph writing, reading fluently at grade level, reading and using textbooks, using dictionaries, gathering and recording information from multiple sources, reading two-part questions, analyzing and explaining thoughts (not just know the answer), proofreading one’s work, being confident when presenting information or speaking a language, being responsible for one’s learning (being prepared for each day, homework completed, gym strip and musical instrument present), and encouraging character building.

Kelowna Museum to learn about owls (related to the novel “Owls in the Family” by Farley Mowat) and our local First Nations

Participate in a local First Nations Siya celebration

Sovereign Lake Cross Country Ski Center

Visit a local care home to spread holiday cheer and deliver letters to their pen pal
