Junior 1-6 / Leadership & Opportunity / Student Council

Junior Student Council

The goal of Student Council is to provide students with genuine leadership opportunities and to develop an understanding of the democratic process. It is designed to facilitate a designated pathway between the faculty and students and to foster relationships between the younger and older students.

Students in Grades 3-6 are able to run for student council each term. They campaign and a vote is held in their homeroom. Successful candidates meet weekly to plan and then they share information with their own class as well as a buddy class. Student council responsibilities include; providing weekly announcements, promoting and upholding our Character Counts Programme and our house team events, developing student led initiatives and activities and helping to plan and run various events throughout the school.
