Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Programme is a world-wide recognition system designed to help students develop balanced, healthy lifestyles. Beginning in Grade 9, students at Aberdeen Hall are encouraged to pursue their Bronze level of achievement. To attain this goal, students must successfully complete a minimum number of hours in each of the following four categories:

  • Service
  • Adventurous Journey
  • Skills
  • Physical Recreation

Although this programme is completed by the individual, at Aberdeen Hall we support our Duke of Edinburgh's Award participants through regularly scheduled progress and information meetings. We also offer Outdoor Pursuits courses that provide students with opportunities to fulfill the Adventurous Journey requirements of the award.
