The Board of Directors of Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School would like to welcome you to our website.
The Aberdeen Hall School Board, created in 2004, is comprised of a number of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. As Board Members we are responsible for developing and monitoring the school's mission and overall strategic plan, formulating and implementing the school's policies, looking after the school's physical plant, and seeing to the school's budget and overall financial well-being.
Our strategic plan is for Aberdeen Hall to become one of the top academic, university preparatory institutions in the province. We are in the process of building a new campus adjacent to UBC-Okanagan, with a vision to grow the school to 600 students from Pre-school to Grade 12. Our goal is to create a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming school community where our students feel safe and nurtured, and where they have the opportunity to reach their academic potential and achieve personal growth.
The administration and the day-to-day operation of Aberdeen Hall is delegated to our Head of School, Mr. Christopher Grieve. Mr. Grieve is the school's educational leader and carries primary responsibility for establishing and maintaining all academic and extra-curricular school programmes. He is responsible for the operation of the physical plant and the growth of the school. As a member of the Facilities Committee, Mr. Grieve is actively participating in the construction of the new campus. Mr. Grieve reports to the Board, provides the Board with professional guidance in setting general educational policies, and is responsible for the administration of Aberdeen Hall in accordance with those policies.
Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School Society is a non-profit society with charitable status. In addition, we set up the Aberdeen Hall Property Society, a non-profit charitable society with the same governance structure as the school society, to hold and develop the new campus adjacent to UBC-O.
We invite interested Aberdeen Hall parents to provide input and feedback to the Board through the Head of School or the society's committee structure, or to participate directly in one of the many committees.
Sincerely,
Michael Holzhey
