Junior 1-6 / Academics / Grade 5

Grade 5 Overview

“Another year has flown by at break-neck speed, and here we stand, poised and breathless, wondering where the time went. The Grade 5 students were involved in a host of enriched academic pursuits from math fractions, robotics, animal dissections and Latin and Greek etymology, to French plays, music concerts and parliamentary debate. In sports, our students have excelled in rugby, wrestling, swimming, running, volleyball, basketball and golf. They had a blast cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Sovereign Lake, where instructors complimented us on having the most polite, adventurous and well-spoken group they had ever hosted. They took part in their first Science Fair this year, and they played the part of peasant, knight, king, minstrel, archer or trades-person just beautifully at this year’s annual Medieval Fayre. The students anxiously anticipated our camping trip to Pines at the end of the year, which was full of excitement and a huge success. This group is a rare breed of exceptionally talented writers, mathematicians, artists, musicians and athletes and we are very proud of each of them.”
