In light of Rob Fleming’s announcement from yesterday, I wanted to communicate to our community that we plan on having all students return to school on September 8 as scheduled.
The faculty and staff will be attending August professional workshops to review the new policies and procedures as required by the Ministry of Education, and we are committed to having the safest school environment possible. Starting next week, you will be receiving additional details about how we intend to meet our educational goals in a new and stimulating learning environment. We are awaiting some specific ministry guidelines which are scheduled for this Friday.
The government is determined to have the students at school as much as possible, whilst being responsible regarding safety.
We have assembled the strongest faculty ever and are excited to welcome the students back to school.
We would like to emphasize the following:
Physical Safety for our students, employees and any visitors on campus will be a top priority with protocols in place to ensure continued good health of all of us.
A focus on wellness, balance and breadth (one of the pillars of our Strategic Plan) will continue with particular emphasis on providing resources and support for emotional and mental health for our students, employees and parents.
Social connections for students with their peers and their teachers will be part of any online or hybrid model that we offer.
We are here for our community and will help our members out in every way that we can. If you need something during these challenging times, reach out and let us know.
As mentioned, more detailed updates about the first day and week of school will be coming from the Principals starting next week.
As always, please send me your questions or comments.
Warm regards,
Chris Grieve
Head of School
