A key goal at Aberdeen Hall is to aid every student in securing a post-secondary opportunity that is the best fit for the individual.

For some, this will involve sending application packages to local universities and colleges. For others, this might involve writing SAT and AP tests, and applying internationally. Whatever direction they choose, our students will have the support and assistance of their teachers, administrators and our guidance team of Stephen Acree and Nathan Cutler. Through a combination of individualized meetings, classroom time, MyBlueprint accounts, and group sessions, students are guided through the process of planning for high school and post-secondary studies. Aberdeen Hall is committed to providing all the tools for students to make a highly successful transition into post-secondary institutions.

Next Steps

Once students have submitted applications they can move onto the next steps. They should receive an email from the university they have applied to indicating any need for transcripts, and encouraging students to fill in a housing application in the new year. Once an offer of conditional acceptance has been received from a university, students will have a period of time to accept the offer and issue a deposit to hold their placement.

Students are required to request transcripts through the Ministry of Education website, a process they will be guided through in Grade 12.

We will also explore scholarship opportunities with our students, helping to explain the various requirements and navigate the process as applications open up.

University Visits

Every fall our students have the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of universities. Our campus has been visited by a number of institutions including the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, University of Calgary, University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, and Western University.

In addition to these visits, many of our students take part in a school trip to tour the campuses of UBC Vancouver and Simon Fraser University, as well as to attend the VAIS American University Fair in October.

These opportunities are invaluable to our students as they consider which university is the best fit for their next step in their educational careers.
