Aberdeen Hall Preparatory School in Kelowna, BC offers students from the surrounding areas of the Okanagan Valley the opportunity to attend one of British Columbia’s top independent schools.
We understand that geographical restrictions have limited the educational choices for many families throughout the interior of BC. The Weekly Boarding Program is designed for high school aged students who live within 100-200KM of our Kelowna campus, so that it’s feasible to return home on weekends. Weekly Boarding opens up a whole new option for residents of Penticton, Vernon, Kamloops, Merritt, and other areas where a daily commute is difficult.
Students live with carefully selected Host Families; all of whom are interviewed in their home by our Family Boarding Coordinator. Host Families must pass the school’s screening process which includes a criminal record check.
Students are provided with a private, fully furnished bedroom with bedding, a desk, chair and lamp. Bathroom facilities may be private or shared. The Host Family provides nutritious meals and snacks. Students have access to laundry facilities and the common living areas of the house. This is the student’s ‘home away from home’.
The charge for Weekly Boarding is $750/month, in addition to tuition.
The student will cover all personal/individual costs outside of the $750/mo. room and board fees. For example:
Students in the Weekly Family Boarding Program return home for all long weekends and school holidays.
At Aberdeen Hall, we seek to admit well-rounded students who choose to be at our school. We are looking for students who demonstrate leadership through academic performance, involvement in co-curricular activities and civic engagement. We care about our students and seek those who value education and are prepared to enrich our incredible school community.
